Javier Sánchez-Prieto (DHD 03), president and CEO of Vueling, will be the keynote speaker at the forthcoming Matins ESADE talk: ''Vueling 2017: Ready for future challenges''.
Vueling president and CEO, Javier Sánchez-Prieto, will analyse and take stock of the firm’s 2017 figures. A crucial year for the airline after initiating its future development plan Vueling Next which has taken it to No. 1 in punctuality at its main airports. The Vueling CEO will also present the firm’s main customer-oriented strategies for 2018.

In March 2016, Javier Sánchez-Prieto (Toledo, 1969) entered Vueling as chairman and CEO, and also joined the IAG group management committee.
Previously, Javier was Iberia CFO and a member of its board of directors. In Iberia, under the responsibility of Luís Gallego, he was head of the company's Future Plan which enabled the company to bounce back into the black after several consecutive years of losses.
Previously, he worked at Iberia Express on the team that led the company’s launch, where he was responsible for the areas of strategic planning, finance, purchasing, systems, fleet, human resources and legal advice.
Before joining this project, Javier held several positions of responsibility in the Uralita Group in the area of strategy and also as the general manager of business in times of far-reaching change .
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business (Universidad Complutense), is an aeronautical engineer (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) and also took a Management Development Programme (ESADE). His professional career began at BDE, an engineering company in the Indra Group. His first job in the aviation industry was at Air Nostrum, where he worked first in maintenance and then in the area of strategic planning and management control.
He has had the opportunity to work in different areas of an airline over the last 20 years and during his professional career he has also gained experience sitting on management committees and boards of directors, and designing and implementing development projects.
Javier is from Villatobas (Toledo). He is 48 years old (1969) and married with three children.
